EEN WARE KATTENHEMEL
Het welzijn van onze katten staat bij ons op nummer één. De katten zien elke dag veel gasten komen en gaan, maar krijgen -behalve met onze vaste gasten en medewerkers- weinig kans om een band op te bouwen met hun bezoekers. Daarom heeft Op z'n Kop een unieke groep van enthousiaste kattenverzorgsters om zich heen verzameld, met allemaal hetzelfde doel: in alle behoeften van onze lieve snoetjes voorzien.
WIE ZIJN DE VRIJWILLIGERS?
De verzorgende poezenliefhebbers bestaat uit een groep dames in de leeftijd van 18-30 jaar die allemaal in Groningen wonen en/of studeren. Ze zijn allemaal dol op katten en vinden het heerlijk om in het kattencafé hun tijd door te brengen met de poezen, en gezellig bij te kletsen met hun mede-verzorgers.
WAT DOEN DE VERZORGERS?
We hebben 3 functies:
- Caretaker (ochtend)
- Café prepper (ochtend)
- Schoonmaak crew (woensdag avond)
De verzorgers komen, op vrijwillige basis, wekelijks op een vaste dag 2 uurtjes in het kattencafé langs. Nadien wordt er, onder het genot van een lekker kopje koffie of thee, uitgebreid met de katten geknuffeld en gespeeld. Zo leren de katten hun verzorgers goed kennen, krijgen ze veel persoonlijke aandacht en worden ze extra uitgedaagd in hun spel.
KATTEN VERZORGER TAKEN:
- Ontbijt en kattensoep serveren
- Schoonmaken van de kattenbakken, voerbakjes, drinkfontein en privévertrek
- Toedienen van medicatie
- Katten borstelen
CAFÉ PREPPER TAKEN:
- Café klaarmaken voor een nieuwe dag: stofzuigen, dweilen, ramen schoonmaken, tafels afnemen etc
- Keuken klaarmaken voor een nieuwe dag: juices maken, snijwerk en afwassen
SCHOONMAAK CREW TAKEN (AVOND):
- Het kattencafé en de privé vertrekken schoon houden.
- Afstoffen en boenen van de catwalks, meubels, kattenbedjes, en alle hoekjes in het café, om een hygiënische leefomgeving voor onze harige snoetjes te kunnen garanderen
KATTEN VRIJWILLIGER WORDEN?
Lijkt het je ook leuk om in een warm, sociaal en gezellig nest van katten én kattenliefhebbers te komen, en daarnaast ook nog jezelf nuttig te maken voor het welzijn van onze katten? Kijk dan of het iets voor jou is:
- Je intentie is om minimaal 3 maanden te komen helpen
- Je bent DOL op katten en behandelt ze met fluwelen handschoenen, als kleine prinsjes en prinsesjes
- Je bent sociaal en vindt het leuk om met andere kattenliefhebbers in contact te komen om samen de handen uit de mouwen te steken en jezelf nuttig te maken voor de poezen
Let op: wij geven geen reiskosten vergoeding.
WANNEER MOET IK ER ZIJN?
Als vrijwilliger kies je 1 vaste dag, waarop je wekelijks beschikbaar bent (minimaal 3 keer per maand). Je kunt kiezen uit 1 van de volgende momenten:
- Maandag: 10.00-12.00 uur
- Dinsdag-Vrijdag: 10.00-12.00 uur
(tijdens vakanties 9.00-11.00u) - Zaterdag-Zondag: 9.00-11.00 uur
- Wo: 18.00-20.00 uur
(tijdens vakanties 19.00-21.00u)

VOLUNTERING AT THE CATCAFE
CAT HEAVEN
The well-being the cats is our number 1 priority. The cats see many guests each day walking in and out, but they don't get to bound with them, because many of them aren't frequent visitors. That is why Catcafe Op z'n Kop has a unique community of enthusiastic volunteers who all have the same goal: make sure our little furrballs get all the love and attention they desire.
WHO ARE THE CAREGIVERS?
The caretakers are mainly girls, aging from 18-30 years old and living/studying in Groningen. They all love cats and they love spending their time in the catcafe, enjoying the cats company and having tea and chats with the other caregivers.
WHAT DOES IT CONTAIN?
We have 3 positions as a caretaker:
- Caretaker (morning job)
- Café prepper (morning job)
- Cleaning crew (wednesday evening)
Everyday a few caregivers help us out for 1-2 hours a day. After the daily chores, it's time for a coffee/tea break while you enjoy the cats and try to bound with them by playing with them. In this way they are getting to know you, they're getting more personal attention and they will feel more challenged in their play.
TASKS CARETAKER:
- Serving breakfast and cat soup
- Cleaning litter boxes, feeding bowls, water fountains and private cat-room
- Giving cats their medication
- Brush the cats
- Challenge the cats in their play
TASKS CAFE PREPPER:
- Prepare the catcafé klaarmaken for a new day: vaccuum, mop the floor, clean the windows, tables, and other surfaces
- Kitchen assistence: making juices, mise en place, prepare the kitchen for a new day
TASKS CLEANING CREW:
- Clean the catcafe and private areas. Dusting and soaping the catwalks, catbeds, sofa's, corners, etc. Making sure our hairy-butts keep living in a hygienic environment
WANT TO BECOME A CAREGIVER?
Would you like to do a little work, enjoy the cosiness of café, the cats and the other girls, then have a look if this would fit you:
- It's your intention to join us for at least 3 months
- You ADORE cats and you treat them like royals
- You like to roll up your sleeves and make yourself useful for the cats
- You are a social person and you'd like to meet some more people and have a nice time together
N.B.: there's no travelcosts compensation.

WHAT ARE THE WORKING HOURS?
You will have 1 fixed day a week. You need to be available at least 3 times a month. The voluntering finds place at the following timeslots:
- Monday: 10.00-12.00
- Tuesday-Friday: 10.00-12.00
(during holidays 9.00-11.00) - Saturday/Sunday: 09.00-11.00
- Wednesday: 18.00-20.00
(during holidays 19.00-21.00)
