HOTSPOT | CAT CAFÉ OP Z’N KOP GRONINGEN

Ever been to a cat café? Well, I haven’t, until yesterday. I visited Kattencafé Op Z’n Kop in Groningen, a fairly new hotspot, just outside the main city centre. It’s a place where cats and humans can relax, play and have a good time together. Well, that’s sounds pretty perfect being a cat lady and all! At the moment there are 7 kittycats terrorizing the place (just kidding) and they are planning on getting more, woohoo! If you wanna see how cute they are, keep reading!

THE LOCATION

Cat café Op Z’n Kop is located at Oude Ebbingestraat 57, Groningen. This is located in a nice area in Groningen, 10 minutes walking from the city centre. It’s fairly easy to find, due to its cute terrace and sign board. They serve breakfast, lunch and early dinner here until 19.00.

THE INTERIOR

The interior of the Cat Café is very white, clean and minimal.  Just the way I like it. I found it so fascinating how they managed to make it a cat paradise, even though everything looks so neat and stylish. Imagine walls filled with little shelves and staircases, specially made for cats to go on adventures. They also have some cute cacti chilling around + a lot of nice cat inspired art you can also buy. I need to go back and buy one of the pretty posters for sure!

THE CATS

Now it’s time for the most exciting part, the cats! There are 7 cuties walking around in this Cat Café, all adopted from the animal shelter. Living in this Cat Café they’re getting a second chance while promoting more animal adoptions at the same time. My favorite was Thomas O’Malley, the pretty ginger cat. He was so playful and funny to look at! Literally wanted to take him with me, haha.

THE FOOD

Enough about the cats. Okay, I can never have enough to be honest, but let’s talk about something else fun: the food! Although you wouldn’t expect a Cat Café to serve a lot of food, they definitely do. I ordered a delicious latte macchiato with soy milk and a nice avocado sandwich. They also have home made lemonade and a high tea arrangements that I would love to try out! You can find more info about everything else about Kattencafé Op Z’n Kop Groningen here (op z’n kop means upside down btw!).
